To gain knowledge on the history of hair & styling, develop the skills needed to work in a professional salon environment through hands-on technical experience & class work; and lastly, prepare you to take and pass the NYS licensing exam.
Being licensed by the NYS education department means The Braiding School. is authorized to provide a natural hair course program. When completed, enrollees are able to apply for a New York State license to become a natural hair care professional. In order to operate on natural hair in a salon, stylists are required by law to have a Natural Hair Styling License. In absence of this license, stylists and salons may be subject to penalties and fines. A Natural Hair Styling License also fulfills the state requirements needed to become a professional stylist and work in any salon.
